Mastering Content Structure: Building Effective LLM-Powered Conversations is now live on CDI Academy!

This course deep dives into why structured content is essential for delivering effective, compliant, and scalable AI conversations. You'll learn to navigate the challenges posed by redundancy, outdated information, and underperforming AI systems.

New Course Update

We’re excited to announce that our first major course release of 2025 has now dropped on our new academy learning environment.

Mastering Content Structure: Building Effective LLM-Powered Conversations was developed in partnership with Rahel Bailie, presently the Content Solutions Director of TWi (soon to be re-launched as Altuent).

Rahel has co-authored Content Strategy (2012) and contributed to Content Operations from Start to Scale: Perspectives from Industry Experts. Throughout her professional journey, Rahel has also collaborated with large organizations across both the private and public sector including eBay, Babylon Health, City of Vancouver, and the UK Government to name just a few.

This has resulted in one of our most exciting releases to date, with the course being ideal for students who:

1 - Want to improve AI model performance through better content structures

2 - Are involved in creating or managing content for AI-driven applications

3 - Need to understand how structured content impacts compliance and scalability

To access the course, you’ll need to have a Course Plan Subscription with Conversation Design Institute, which will also enable you to access:

  • All of CDI’s expanded course content (40+ topic based modules and 500+ videos)
  • All webinars and Expert Classes (attend in real time or catch them after they’ve been delivered as part of our broader learning materials )
  • Additional 2025 course releases such as RAG updates to our Prompt Design Course (May), Digital Humans (July) and a Design Patterns update to our CxD1 Conversation Design course (October)

You can read a detailed synopsis on the new course below, along with an exciting announcement about a webinar that will be delivered by Rahel on April 10th with registration information.

Course Synopsis & Overview

As AI adoption accelerates, delivering accurate and scalable conversations relies heavily on how well your content is structured.

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of why structured content is crucial for AI performance, compliance, and adaptability. Through practical examples and real-world applications, you'll learn to transform raw data into meaningful, AI-ready content.

We begin by exploring how structured content enhances AI performance and mitigates risks associated with unstructured information, such as outdated data and inconsistent outputs.

You'll also gain insights into how evolving regulations - including the EU AI Act and other compliance frameworks - make structured content essential for legal and ethical AI operations.

The course then outlines actionable strategies for structuring content effectively. You'll learn how to apply editorial conventions, semantic structuring, and technical standards to improve content discoverability and adaptability.

We also address the balance between human-led content design and technical implementation to ensure your AI applications are both user-friendly and technically robust.

A significant portion of the course focuses on the practical implementation of structured content in AI systems.

You'll explore key technologies like XML, HTML, and knowledge graphs, to understand how they enable intelligent content delivery. Collaborative strategies for engaging stakeholders, including technical writers and data scientists, are also covered to ensure seamless content structuring.

Finally, you'll gain insights into how Large Language Models (LLMs) interact with structured content. We'll discuss how knowledge graphs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models enhance contextual accuracy and how to mitigate risks like hallucinations by grounding models in reliable, well-structured data.

By the end of this course, you'll be equipped with the skills to design AI conversations that are not only efficient and accurate but also adaptable to future content and regulatory changes.

Accompanying April Webinar

To celebrate the launch of this course, we thought, what better way than to invite Rahel to deliver an open webinar in April!

Discover how structured content fuels more effective, compliant, and scalable AI conversations, along with best practices for content structuring, the role of LLMs, and how to optimize content for intelligent AI applications.

The session will also dive into the emerging trend of Information Architecture for AI (IA for AI) and how it shapes smarter, more effective AI solutions.
